Grass-Fed Beef Bulk Shares
If you’ve ever thought about filling your freezer with high-quality beef for the year, this is honestly one of the best ways to do it. Buying directly from our farm means you know exactly how your food was raised — and you’re getting nutrient-dense, 100% grass-fed and grass-finished beef with no antibiotics or artificial growth hormones.
When you buy a beef share, you’re not just getting random cuts. You’ll receive a great variety of premium cuts — steaks, roasts, ground beef — all cut to your preferences and packaged up to feed your family for months.
Good question — this confuses a lot of people.
Hanging weight is the weight after the hide, head, hooves, and organs are removed at the butcher. That’s the standard way farms price bulk beef.
Once your beef is cut and packaged, some weight is lost from trimming fat and removing large bones. So the take-home weight will be less than the hanging weight — unless you choose to keep all bones and fat, in which case it’ll be closer.
Our grass-fed beef is:
$6.50 per lb hanging weight
Typical totals:
¼ Beef (~110 lbs hanging weight): $715 + processing
½ Beef (~220 lbs hanging weight): $1430 + processing
We only have a limited number of beef shares each year, and they’re scheduled around our fall processing dates.
For example, a ¼ beef typically gives you around 66 lbs of packaged meat, depending on the final hanging weight and how you choose your cuts. (see "What's Hanging Weight?" above)
That’s a lot of meals — and it makes meal planning so much easier when your freezer is stocked.
You’ll fill out a cut sheet for the butcher so everything is customized to how you cook.
Our 2026 butcher dates with Lake Haven Meats are in September.
I will contact you with an online cut sheet at that time and can help if you have questions. Otherwise, Hannah at Lake Haven Meats can answer questions too.
About 2 weeks after processing, your beef is ready.
At the time of this post (February 2026) standard processing fees for Lake Haven:
$0.90 per lb hanging weight (subject to change)
We pay Lake Haven and then you pay us when we deliver
Example:
A ¼ beef at 110 lbs hanging weight would have an estimated processing cost of about $99.
To reserve your beef share, we require a $200 deposit.
You can pay by check, Zelle, cash or order online.
Once the animal goes to the butcher and we receive the hanging weight, your deposit is applied to the total. The remaining balance plus the processing fee is due when beef is delivered.
If you’ve been thinking about buying in bulk, this really is a great way to stock up on clean, responsibly raised beef for the year.
